Since then, the statue has remained in Prague and has drawn many devotees worldwide to go and honor the Holy Child. Lady of Guadalupe: is the Patron Saint of the Unborn, Patroness of The Americas, and is a miraculous image left on the cloak of St. Juan Dieo on December 9, 1531 . The lady told him to build a church exactly on the spot where they were standing. He told the local bishop, who asked for some proof. St. Juan Dieo told the lady that the bishop wanted proof, and she said "Bring the roses behind you." Turning to look, he found a rose bush growing behind him. He cut the roses, placed them in his poncho and returned to the bishop, saying he had brought proof. When he opened his poncho, instead of roses, there was an image of the young lady in the vision. Lady of Lourdes: Appeared as The Immaculate Conception to St. Bernadette on February 11, 1858, when Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year-old peasant girl from Lourdes, told her mother, that she had seen a "lady" in the grotto of Massabielle. Our Lady appears on seventeen further occasions. On February 25, 1858 Our Lady of Lourdes instructs Bernadette to "drink at the spring and wash yourself there". Lourdes water is world renowned for being a source of healing on a physical level but even more so, in the spiritual sense. Feast day is February 11th. Lady of Mt. Carmel: is the traditional image of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Brown Scapular as revealed to St. Simon Stock and as patroness of the Carmelite Order. The first Carmelites were Christian hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land during the late 12th century. They built a chapel which they dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, whom they conceived of in chivalric terms as the "Lady of the place." Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is celebrated on 16 July. Lady of the Rosary: Our Lady of the Rosary is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary in relation to the rosary. In 1571 Pope Pius V instituted "Our Lady of Victory" as an annual feast to commemorate the victory in the Battle of Lepanto. Pope Gregory XIII changed the title of this feast-day to "Feast of the Holy Rosary". The victory was attributed to the Blessed Virgin Mary, as a rosary procession had been offered on that day in St. Peter's Square in Rome for the success of the mission of the Holy League. Saint Christopher: is Patron Saint of Travelers and against sudden death. Once a hermit told Christopher he could serve Christ by assisting people to cross a dangerous river, promising Christopher that this service would be pleasing to Christ. Christopher then performed this service for some time, until a child asked him to take him across the river. During the crossing, the river became swollen and the child seemed heavy as lead. Christopher could hardly carry him across. When reaching the other side, he said to the child, "You have put me in the greatest danger. I don't think the world could have been as heavy on my shoulders as you." The child replied, "You had on your shoulders not only the whole world but Him who made it. I am Christ your King, whom you are serving by this work." The child then vanished. His feast day is July 25th. Saint Francis: St. Francis of Asissi is the patron saint of animals and the environment and one of the two patrons of Italy (with Catherine of Siena). While going off to war in 1204, Francis had a vision that directed him back to Assisi, where he lost his taste for his worldly life, choosing to live in poverty. In 1224, he received the stigmata, making him the first person to bear the wounds of Christ's Passion. He died in 1226 while preaching Psalm 141. Feast day is October 4th. Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his New Testament letter stressing that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances. Feast day is October 28th. Saint Micheal: St. Michael the Archangel is a powerful defender of the Church. He is viewed as the field commander of the Army of God in which he leads God's armies against the Devil's forces during his uprising. Holy Scripture describes St. Michael as "one of the chief princes," and leader of the forces of heaven in their triumph over the powers of hell. He has been especially honored and invoked as patron and protector by the Church from the time of the Apostles. Feast day is September 29th. Saint Theresa: Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus, was one of the most instantly popular saints of the twentieth century, due to her great appeal and her example of achieving sanctity, not through undertaking great deeds, but through personal devotion and dedication. The young nun's autobiography, "Story of a Soul", written at the command of her prioress, was much admired for its deep spiritual wisdom and beauty. The book presented people with a compelling example of spiritual maturity and piety achieved by an ordinary young girl. An anecdote, that she had promised to send roses as a sign of her intercession led to the affectionate nickname, the "Little Flower".
